The news follows Brinkster's recent expansion of its "90 Day No Nonsense Money Back Guarantee" promotion, which was previously only offered with its email and shared hosting services but now includes dedicated servers.
The new File Manager has a simplified interface that enables Brinkster customers to perform common file related functions right from a web browser, including changing file and folder security permissions on demand.
"After many months in development we are excited to beta release the next generation in web based file and folder management," says Jared Stauffer, president and CEO at Brinkster. "This new tool gives our customers the ease of use they have been asking for."
The File Manager also features a new text editor which enables users to open multiple files, search for text, jump to a line in the code, then make a change or update.
These features enable customers to quickly customize their web space, providing them with the ability to select and upload as many files as they wish, accompnied by a detailed progress bar.
The company says that simplicity was its primary objective in designing the new File Manager. Brinkster incorporated the look and feel of a standard PC file system in an effort to provide a simple way for customers to manage their files.
The File Manager acts as an "extension of the customer's desktop," supporting many similar features such as multiple windows with different file view options.
The web application was developed using Adobe Flex Framework, which operates inside Adobe's Flash 9 technology and resides on 97 percent of Brinkster customer's computers.
Adobe Flex has helped Brinkster build a web application that is interactive, easy to learn and able to be deployed consistently across all major browsers, desktops and operating systems, says the company.

Brinkster Offers Guarantee with Servers (September 24, 2008) - Web hosting provider Brinkster (brinkster.com) announced on Wednesday that it has extended its "90 Day No Nonsense Money Back Guarantee" (brinkster.com/guarantee.aspx) promotion to include dedicated servers. The guarantee was previously only offered with its email and shared web hosting services.
Following the revamping of its dedicated server lineup (brinkster.com/server) in June, Brinkster says it experienced a significant increase in demand, as it "virtually eliminated any risk for the customer," says Brinkster president and CEO Jared Stauffer.
In the satisfaction guarantee, Brinkster states "during the first ninety days after you purchase service with us, if you are not completely satisfied, we will refund your money minus any setup or domain name fees."
However, there are some limitations to the money back guarantee. The maximum value a customer can receive for a refund is $900, and the company says the refund may be limited if a highly customized dedicated server setup is ordered.
"When we made the decision to ramp up our dedicated server business we knew the bar had been raised quite high in this arena over the past few years," says Clint Poole, Brinkster's COO. "We did extensive research and made a significant investment to revamp our dedicated server platform. Our customers have validated our efforts and the response has been exciting. Extending a 90 day no nonsense money back guarantee is our way of telling the customer we truly believe in this product."

Brinkster Secures with Comodo (February 9, 2007) - Identity and trust assurance management solutions provider Comodo (comodo.com) announced on Thursday that Web hosting provider Brinkster (brinkster.com) has selected Comodo to power its security solution offerings.
Brinkster will be offering Comodo's ITA Suite, including a full range SSL certificates, the new EV SSL certificates, HackerGuardian vulnerability management solutions, email security solutions and desktop security solutions. Comodo says Brinkster customers will realize the benefits of advanced technological security, helping them establish trust during online transactions.
