| globalhost.com news | GlobalHost Gives 3 Months Free Hosting (April 2, 2004) - Web hosting provider GlobalHost (globalhost.com) announced on Thursday that it is offering customers three months of free Web hosting services in a trial marketing push that will end next week on April 7.
The company said the service comes with no obligations, does not subject customers to advertisements or require prepayment for other services, and includes none of what the company says are "other typical conditions of free hosting offers."
GlobalHost is not related to the Australian company of the same name.

Hostway Continuing Australian Expansion (November 7, 2003) - Chicago-based Web hosting provider Hostway (hostway.com) said it will continue to expand in Australia with plans to spend up to $10 million on further acquisitions, according to a report published in Australian IT.
Lucas Roh, CEO of Hostway, told Australian IT that the company is targeting the Australian market because of the cultural and business similarities it shares with the U.S. Roh added that the company is keen to participate in the 'inevitable consolidation' of the hosting market in Australia, and aims to compete on price and service with the two dominant local providers, WebCentral (webcentral.com.au) and Hostworks (hostworks.com.au).
Hostway entered the Australian hosting market in April of this year with an eye towards acquisitions.
In September, the company made two acquisitions. Early in the month, it acquired the dedicated server business and other assets of GlobalHost (globalhost.com.au), a company with no association to the American company of the same name. In late September, Hostway snapped up Dedicated Hosting (dedicatedhosting.com.au), an Australian Web hosting, colocation and managed services provider.
In Australia, Hostway runs its hosting operations from the Global Switch data center in inner-Sydney Pyrmont.
Destra Acquires Enet21, Integrates With OzHosting.com (October 2, 2003) - Destra Corporation (destra.com) announced today the acquisition of Enet21 Pty Ltd.?s (enet21.com.au) dedicated hosting business for consideration up to AUD$600,000 in cash and shares.
Enet21 is a provider of dedicated servers, colocation and managed services based in New South Wales, Australia.
According to Domenic Carosa, CEO of Destra, the newly acquired asset generates over AUD$1.0 million in annual revenue.
Enet21 clients will be integrated within the existing infrastructure of OzHosting.com (ozhosting.com), a subsidiary of Destra.
The company said the deal will "further entrench" Destra?s position as the second largest host in Australia.
Just last week, OzHosting.com acquired GlobalHost (globalhost.com.au), bringing 1,000 customers under its wing.
