OnSmart Announces New Hosting Plans (November 14, 2002) - Web hosting firm OnSmart Network (OnSmart.net) announced on Wednesday that it is launching three new Web hosting plans, designed to make the task of choosing the best plan simpler for companies seeking to establish a Web presence.
The three new plans offer between 200 and 600 MB of storage, between 10 and 20 GB of data transfer and hosting for 2 to 10 separate sites on one account. Each account also includes the CPanel 5.0 client interface for managing those separate sites.
Each plan also includes unlimited POP3/SMTP email accounts, site statistics, unlimited MySQL Databases, PHP 4 with Zend Optimizer, customizable error pages, free search engine submission and a range of almost 40 other features. Pricing for the shared hosting plans ranges from $9.95 to $29.95 per month, with no set-up fees.
Along with the shared hosting plans, OnSmart Network also offers virtual private server packages that include between 1,000 and 5,000 MB or storage space, between 20 and 60 GB of transfer, up to 10 IP addresses and complete root access, as well as a range of other features. Pricing for the virtual private server plans ranges from $49.95 to $149.95 per month.
OnSmart to Launch Hosting Operations (July 4, 2002) - New hosting provider OnSmart Network Inc. (OnSmart.net) announced on Thursday that it will launch its services on July 5, offering customers virtual environments, an advanced form of the popular virtual private server.
OnSmart says it will deploy the HSPcomplete solution for the management of its Virtuozzo-based Linux servers, offering customers a capacity similar to that of a dedicated server, at a significant cost savings. OnSmart says the new technology is more efficient and reliable than other partitioning technology.
"We can provide our customers with the powerful capabilities they want at much lower prices, while we reduce our admin costs and overhead," says Jacky Yung, CEO of OnSmart.
Along with its virtual environments, OnSmart Network offers a range of services including fully dedicated servers and private hosting, which offers a comparable level of security and customer privacy to a virtual private server solution, at a cost comparable to that of shared hosting.
The company says its hosting plans will begin at $14.95 per month.
