Scheduled for the second half of 2009, SS 2009 will last three days, according to SuperbHosting.Net's announcement this week. Pegged as both a customer education and appreciation event, SS 2009 will be "an interactive forum," where expert speakers and workshops will educate and empower clients to not only make the most of their services, but also help grow their online presence and business as a whole. SuperbHosting.Net will also be looking to customers to guide the development of its future services and features.

SS 2009 will feature expert speakers and workshops on a wide range of topics, such as search engine optimization, virtualization and cloud computing, sound business growth practices for small to mid-size businesses, and workshops on how to get the most out of SuperbHosting.Net's service offerings. The event will also present opportunities to network, and present business services and products to a wide range of like-minded individuals.

Attendance is free for all customers, including food and drinks during the event, as well as some unique, local excursions and adventures in Hawaii, however, travel and accommodation expenses are not covered.

Also, because it is SuperbHosting.Net's first summit, the company is looking for input and giving those who complete a brief survey a chance to win a free, all-expenses-paid trip to SS 2009.

Superb Opens Hawaii HQ, Adds Execs (December 12, 2008) - Web hosting provider Superb Internet (www.superbhosting.net) announced on Friday it has opened a new corporate headquarters in the First Hawaiian Bank Tower, located in Honolulu, Hawaii's financial district.

The move is an integral part of the company's strategy of attracting and retaining key talent. Superb has already filled multiple key senior management positions with whom the company refers as "extremely experienced and talented individuals who will help take the company to the next level."

"We are pleased that in an era of economic uncertainty we are in a position of continued strong growth, remain profitable and are (as we always have been) 100 percent debt free," says Haralds Jass, Superb president and CEO. "We are very pleased to offer our valued employees an alternative to the normal benefits associated with corporate life. The health and well-being of our employees is very important to us, and we are confident that the move to Honolulu will have a significant effect on productivity, innovation and team cohesiveness - and will also accordingly result in an even higher level of service for our customers."

Among the new senior level executives named is the company's new director of marketing, Dale Bunten, who will lead the global marketing communications efforts and support the move into more advanced hosting services. Bunten has eight years of sales and marketing experience in the web hosting industry, having served in senior level positions for NetNation Communications, Hostway and Reliant Web Hosting (Canada Web Hosting).

George Allen has been named director of sales and director of professional services, a role in which he proposes to build a world-class sales organization, and a strong and comprehensive professional services division. According to the press release, Allen has had "decades of programming, sales, marketing, and management experience in successful high technology companies," serving in senior roles such as VP of sales and VP of marketing

Brian Alexander has been named director of systems engineering, where he will help design and implement advanced hosting solutions for enterprise level customers, as well as build and maintain Superb's hosting infrastructure. He has over a decade of experience from building, directing and managing large-scale global properties for Dell.com, to managing the largest public grid computing project on the Internet.

Matthew Putegnant is the new director of development and brings with him 20 years of advanced software development leadership and management experience, delivering enterprise solutions for small engineering firms and large telecoms alike. He is responsible for all phases of Superb's software development activity, including business process modeling, requirements, analysis and design, implementation, testing, configuration and change management, and deployment.

Patrick Ahler has been appointed to director of business development and operations manager for Hawaii. He has 12 years of advanced technical experience primarily in the field of systems administration and web technologies.

Jason Wong has been named director of human resources, a position in which he will recruit, hire, and retain quality personnel to support the company's rapid growth, on a global scale at all of Superb's locations in five US states and in Canada. His experience spanns the real estate, finance, banking, computing, and human resource sectors.

Finally, Curtis R Curtis, the current VP of sales and marketing, has announced his resignation, effective December 30, 2008. Last week, software developer NEMediaSoft named Curtis the company's new chief sales and marketing officer, where he will help promote the company's SEO software suite, RankSense.

The WHIR talked to Curtis in July about his HostingCon 2008 session entitled "Search Marketing Tools for the Hosting Industry".

Since 1996, Superb Internet range of managed web hosting services, from virtual hosting through to dedicated service solutions. Now headquartered in Honolulu, the company also has data centers and around the clock operations in McLean, Virginia and Seattle, Washington.

Curtis Named NEMediaSoft Sales Exec (December 9, 2008) - Software developer NEMediaSoft (www.nemediasoft.com) has appointed 16-year Internet, hosting and online marketing veteran Curtis R. Curtis as chief sales and marketing officer to help promote the company's SEO software suite, RankSense, designed to simplify and improve the search engine optimization process.

"We are extremely excited to welcome Curtis to the RankSense team," RankSense chief executive officer and founder Hamlet Batista said in a statement late last week. "We are confident that with his extensive experience, background and knowledge onboard we will quickly reach our goal of making RankSense the leading SEO software suite in the marketplace."

A recognized leader in the web hosting community who speaks regularly on hosting infrastructure, online marketing and the evolution of the Internet, Curtis began his career as a technology consultant with the US and Canadian governments. In 1993, he launched and managed one of the first Internet service providers.

Most recently, Curtis served as senior vice president of sales and marketing at hosting provider Superb Internet Corporation (www.superbhosting.net), where he has led its sales and marketing efforts, along with helping to guide the direction of the company since 2000.

"We have been very fortunate to have Curtis's dedication and leadership, especially with regards to our sales and marketing efforts for these many years," Superb Internet chief executive officer Haralds Jass said in a statement.

"His outstanding commitment to our customers and his continued pursuit of excellence in the quality of our service is what has greatly contributed to Superb Internet success as a hosting company. He has been instrumental in the Company's desire to lead the hosting industry; to constantly set the bar higher for others to follow, and to always strive for the very best on behalf of the Company and its customers."

Curtis' position at Superb Internet was filled by director of marketing Dale Bunten, director of sales George Allen and director of business development Patrick Ahler.

Throughout his career, according to Superb Internet, Curtis has been a vocal evangelist for the hosting industry, specifically within the search marketplace.

"It has been a great pleasure for me to work in the hosting industry since its initial inception in the form of the earliest ISPs and to have been able to associate with so many outstanding companies and individuals in the process," Curtis said in a statement. "The hosting industry is unquestionably undergoing some dramatic changes and I look forward to continue to play a role in the transformation; in whatever directions that may take."

According to a statement from NEMediaSoft late last week, in addition to leading NEMediaSoft's sales and marketing efforts, Curtis will help build strategic hosting industry partnerships for Dominican Republic-based NEMediaSoft.

Batista noted, "We recognize that partnering with the hosting industry and vendors such as cPanel and Parallels is vital in our goal to get RankSense in front of every website owner seeking to pinpoint the most profitable, sought after keywords necessary to drastically improve search engine rankings and increase the quantity and quality of their natural search traffic."
