UK2 Joins Microsoft WebsiteSpark Hosting Program (November 23, 2009) - The company partners with Microsoft, unveils its new datacenter and launches "Buy One Get One Half Price" promotion.
UK2.NET, a web hosting provider, today announced that it has teamed up with Microsoft to offer its customers 50 Pounds off when they buy a Windows server and sign up to Microsoft's WebsiteSpark. The company explains that WebsiteSpark, a program recently launched by Microsoft assists small web development and design firms made up of no more than 10 employees by offering them free software, support and business opportunities for up to three years. This means that company's eligible customers could start using some of Microsoft's latest applications such as Windows Server 2008 (R2) at no cost to them.
The company also announced that it recently launched its new data center. The newly launched datacenter previously occupied by Virgin Media, is situated within sight of Canary Wharf, and has been equipped to a world class standard. It avers that to celebrate the launch of its new datacenter, it is now offering customers "Buy One Get One Half Price" on all its dedicated server products. This offer means that customers can buy one server and get half price off another server of equivalent value or less, which can result in a significant cost saving. The company states that the 50 Pounds off deal is valid on the first 120 UK2 Windows servers who also sign up to WebsiteSpark. The "Buy One Get One Half Price" offer is valid on any new UK2 server purchase on a three months, six months and one year contract.

UK2 Launches Business Booster Service (October 27, 2009) - Company's Search Engine Submission tool helps web hosting customers submit their website to over 200 search engines worldwide.
UK2.net, a web hosting company, today announced that it has launched a business booster service designed to help customers drive more traffic to their website and possibly rank higher on search engines. The company states that the new service which is made up of a Search Engine Submission tool and a Business Directory entry comes at a time when businesses are looking at cost effective ways to gain new customers in order to survive the economic downturn.
It articulates that the Search Engine Submission tool helps customers submit their website to over 200 search engines worldwide, including major search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, Lycos, AOL and Bing. The company also states that whilst the Business Directory entry service due to be launched on the 2nd of November 2009, is designed to give listed websites exposure to the 700,000 visitors to it every month, as well as help them build inbound links to their website which is useful for search engine optimization.

Web Host UK2 Group Developing New Control Panel (March 10, 2009) - Web hosting company family, the UK2 Group (www.uk2group.com) has announced plans to launch a "next generation control panel" across its entire line of brands, including key hosting providers UK2.net, midPhase and WestHost.
According to the company, an exclusive public beta test of Tera.CP has just been released to customers of its dedicated hosting brand, 10TB.com (www.10tb.com), with further testing and roll out to follow over the course of 2009.
The UK2 Group said Tera.CP "is a significant departure from the traditional, static control panel that hosting customers are used to," giving users a much more versatile experience. Tera.CP is based on EXTJS (www.extjs.com), a cross-browser JavaScript library for building rich Internet applications. Tera.CP also uses the Adobe Air runtime environment, to offer a rich Internet application that run outside the browser on multiple operating systems.
According to the company, 10TB.com customers using Tera.CP are given total control over their servers and up-to-the-second information on hardware and bandwidth usage.
"Tera.CP is another key development for the hosting industry being led by UK2 Group," UK2 Group chief executive officer Ditlev Bredahl said. "With such a large family of brands offering customers the latest hosting products and services, we felt that it was hugely important to provide customers with a sophisticated yet easy to use control panel to manage their requirements."
Bredahl also noted that Carlos Rego spearheaded the development of the new control panel. He said Rego has about 15 years of experience in the field including a post as managing director of Positive Software's H-Panel before it was bought by Parallels Plesk Panel provider Parallels (www.parallels.com) in September 2007.
