About webhostingbuzz.com
WebHostingBuzz: A little something about us

Bored of paragraph after paragraph of marketing text?

Good, because you won't find any here. Instead, we'll tell you just the facts about us that will hopefully allow you to make an educated decision on whether WebHostingBuzz is the right choice for you.

WebHostingBuzz was started in 2002 by Safvan Malik, the current CEO. Our grass roots were a simple reseller account of another company started by Safvan in his spare time whilst at University studying Business Management. Fast forward 6 years and we're now a multi-national company hosting over 300,000 websites, hundreds of servers and provide hosting infrastructure to some of the most common destinations on the internet today.

However, since inception, some things remain:

* We're 100% privately held. We have no share holders other than ourselves to answer to. This means we spend the money where it matters - on WebHostingBuzz.
* We're debt free. No loans, no mortgages and cash flow positive. We've had plenty of acquisition offers and the answer has been a flat "NO" each time.
* Current clients are very happy with our service. Check out our Facebook page to see testimonials written by real people and not the marketing department, unlike our competitors.

Our Infrastructure and Technology: what powers your website
Datacenters

Choice of data center is paramount for any hosting company that wishes to continually deliver high performance and reliable hosting to their client base. We've chosen three geographically diverse facilities to house our infrastructure. Each has been selected on it's own merit after meeting our stringent requirements.

* Each facility features fully redundant infrastructure; internet connectivity, power, internal and human resource (yes, what happens when the sole graveyard shift technician at lesser facilities has flu?)
* All facilities are discreet, unmarked and secure. Data centers are becoming an increasingly popular target for thieves and criminals because of their often invaluable contents.
* None of the facilities are in natural disaster prone areas. Too many of our competitors use data centers in hurricane-prone areas, others even use data centers in areas at great risk from earthquakes.
* All facilities are of a minimum of Tier 3/n+1 redundancy specification (as specified by The Uptime Institute)

Webhosting Buzz Revamps Reseller Plans (January 14, 2009) - The latest in a string of new reseller hosting plan announcements this week, US web host WebHostingBuzz.com (www.webhostingbuzz.com) has revamped its entire reseller hosting range to include even more features and quotas as well as lowering entry price points.

"Having started off from a reseller plan ourselves back in 2002, we're very in tune with the reseller hosting market," WebHostingBuzz.com chief executive officer Safvan Malik said in a statement. Providing services to over 50,000 websites, several thousand of which are resellers, Malik noted WebHostingBuzz.com has looked to its resellers to shape the new plans. "These plans are designed to offer customers the same opportunity that we have had and capitalized on and we work very hard to help our resellers succeed."

Starting at about $15 per month, WebHostingBuzz.com's new reseller hosting plans include cPanel, a 24/7 helpdesk with live chat support and telephone support during business hours. WebHostingBuzz.com also provides WHMAutopilot billing software, Fantastico, SSL certificates, and private name servers, all particularly important features for resellers. "Our offerings are an attractive proposition for those looking to start their own web hosting business with us, or simply consolidate all of their hosting into one account," Malik added.

Earlier in the week, the WHIR reported on UK reseller hosting provider Heart Internet (www.heartinternet.co.uk) adding Windows-based reseller hosting to its offerings, enabling resellers to manage both Windows and Linux platforms simultaneously. Offering Windows hosting opens up a large portion of the market, with more than 33 percent of all active sites running on Windows, according to Netcraft's November survey.

ResellerChoice also made a major announcement this week, giving hosts a chance to tap into the Windows IT Services hosting market by offering a white label IT hosting reseller program for complex services such as Hyper-V VPS Servers, Exchange Mail and SharePoint.

WebHostingBuzz Launches VPS Hosting (December 30, 2008) - Web hosting provider WebHostingBuzz (www.webhostingbuzz.com) announced last week it has launched virtual private server web hosting plans.

VPS is becoming increasingly popular service offered among web hosting providers, with several other web hosts launching their own VPS plans in the last couple months, including India-based web hosting provider ZNet India, AYKsolutions and Gearworx.

"We have been providing shared and reseller hosting for over six years," says Wayne Reavill, of WebHostingBuzz. "Dedicated servers were introduced a couple of years back and introducing virtual private servers was an easy and obvious decision to make.

According to the press release, WebHostingBuzz tested out the VPS hosting solution for six months, offering a trial period for customers.

The new VPS plans are served from high availability Supermicro 8 CPU Xeons located in their Atlanta data center suite, which features N 1 redundancy built into all network, power, cooling and operational systems.

The company has a staff of more than 50 front line system administrators and customer service representatives, and offers an average ticket response time of 17 minutes and 32 seconds.

WebHostingBuzz offers four different VPS web hosting plans. The Bronze plan is $34.95 per month, and includes 25GB disk space, 750GB data transfer, 128MB guaranteed RAM, 512MB bustable RAM and two dedicated IP addresses.

The $49.95 per month Silver plan offers 50GB disk space, 1,000GB, 245MB, and four dedicated IP addresses. Gold is priced at $64.95 per month and includes 75GB disk space, 1,500GB data transfer, 512MB guaranteed RAM, 2048MB bustable RAM and six dedicated IP addresses.

Finally, the Platinum plan is $129.95 per month and includes 200GB disk space, 2,500GB data transfer, 1,025MB guaranteed RAM, 4096MB bustable RAM and eight dedicated IP addresses.

All plans are semi-managed with round the clock unlimited support, include Hermes anti-spam protection, free setup, 8 CPU Xeon 5410 servers with 12GB RAM and SATA2 RAID5 disks and unlimited domains.

WebHostingBuzz Rents Private Cage (November 6, 2008) - Web hosting provider WebHostingBuzz (www.webhostingbuzz.com) has announced has accomplished the move to its own private hosting cage at Atlanta NAP (www.atlantanap.com), capable of housing over 1000 servers and expanding its scope and scale of services.

According to WebHostingBuzz's Thursday announcement, the move will allow the budget, business and reseller hosting provider to safeguard its network of servers and their data, as well as improving network performance and reliability for its current customers including Shopzilla and Dominos Pizza, and more than 300,000 websites.

"We are always looking to stay ahead of the curve with our web hosting technology," WebHostingBuzz chief operating officer Matt Russell said in a statement. "Our private hosting cage allows us to expand our business securely without overloading our servers or compromising our uptime. This means our customers will not have to suffer from hosting downtime or slowness through any growth we experience as a company."

Moving into a private hosting cage is a major step for many hosting providers, allowing a host like WebHostingBuzz to expand services and deliver "on its commitments to provide unparalleled hosting security and reliability in its class," according to the company's announcement.

Atlanta NAP chief executive officer Jeff Hinkle said, "The WebHostingBuzz facility here at AtlantaNAP will help them grow securely and reliably in the future. They have plenty of room here, so I don't expect they'll be overloading servers anytime soon."

Atlanta NAP features Hot Standby Router Protocol, a Cisco-developed redundancy protocol for providing a fault-tolerant default gateway, used to provide redundant Internet and network connections to private cages. HSRP creates a framework between network routers to achieve default gateway failover if the primary gateway becomes inaccessible.

Also, in October, AtlantaNAP doubled its cooling capacity from 1,000 tons to 2,000 tons with the addition of two new cooling towers, preparing it for its final phase of Tier 2 and 3 construction that will add 22,500 sq.ft of floor space.
