ICANN has announced today that it has signed an exchange of letters with thecountry code top level domain (ccTLD) manager for .za-South Africa ZA DNA,and an accountability framework with the ccTLD manager for .az-Azerbaijan,IntraNS.
The Accountability Framework program provides two mechanisms by which ccTLDmanagers can formalise their relationship with ICANN. The first is an AccountabilityFramework document that sets out the obligations of a ccTLD manager and ICANN.It also covers dispute resolution and termination and is designed for ccTLDmanagers requiring a formal document with ICANN.
The second mechanism is an exchange of letters between ICANN and the ccTLDmanager designed for those for whom a simple statement of commitment is moreappropriate.
