Atlantic.Net Adds Cloud Computing API - Mar 7, 2011

Users gain efficiency, automation and flexibility.

Atlantic.Net, a hosting solutions provider, recently announced that it has released a free application programming interface (API) for its world-class cloud computing platform, allowing customers to more efficiently utilize its robust functionality. The company claims that tasks such as provisioning new servers, deleting existing servers, and turning power on and off can now be handled with a few lines of code, rather than having to access a web interface.

According to it, cPanel/WHM is designed with multiple administrative levels, offering different user interfaces for administrators, resellers, and end users, as well as email-based interfaces. These multiple levels provide security, ease of use, and flexibility for everyone, from server administrators to email account users.

The company mentions that cloud computing has revolutionized the way businesses address their server and computing needs, eliminating the time and expense formerly associated with server management and provisioning. The cloud API is just the latest way the company is adding value to its hosting solutions. It is offering a free trial credit of $15 for new customers who commit to trying out its cloud computing suite by March 31. The free trial, including free setup with no contract or commitment, is available at http://www.atlantic.net/cloud.

"Our RESTful API provides developers, system administrators, and resellers the freedom to control and automate their Atlantic.Net cloud services via the programming language of their choice," said Josh Simon, Director of Data Center Services for Atlantic.Net. "Combined with our easy-to-use point-and-click web-based cloud portal, users of any technical ability can now efficiently manage their cloud resource in the way that's most comfortable and useful for them."
