pmorgan ( pmorgan@n... ) | After 6 months, I cancelled my account with 4java. Good site, services. I received an email back confirming that they had cancelled my account and no further billing would occur on my Visa (dumb!). Then I receive an email that my "cancellation ticket" had not received an confirmation, so they would continue to bill. I immediately emailed back advising that I HAD confirmed... and cancel the account.
This circular (1) request to cancel, (2) confirmation of account close, (3) 4java reopening [...]

Robert ( -no email- ) | During their server migration which we were not notified about we lost all our postgresql databases. They had no backup of the old server before migrating to the new machine and could not retrieve them. Set us back a few weeks on some projects.

Robert ( -no email- ) | Absolutely terrible service. Changed nameservers without warning. All sites down. Awful support. No response most of the time.

They offer support and it doesn´t work
I having problems with my emails, ftp, Plesk and website 3 weeks ago and 4java can´t fix it..
My support tickets are answered 3 o 4 days after.
The service is "really really bad"
and in this moment the 4java pltataform is down...

Unknown ( none@d... ) | 4Java was okay, it provided decent PHP and Java support. However when shit hit the fan and they moved from Plesk to CPanel, I couldn't reach support for weeks.
I was once in a Live chat with one of their support agents and mid-question, he left the chatroom and their support email would not answer any questions.
I would not recommend 4java.ca to anyone except for use with testservers.
Have migrated now to hostgator, taken me about a day, it was well worth it though.

Fred Moscicki ( fred@z... ) | tomcat is down way too often. Basic functionality that web host should be familiar with, support has to look into. Support hours are irregular. They don't listen. They take a long time to get back to you and when they do they don't answer your questions. I fear that there security sucks. They are expensive. Wow. What am I still doing with these guys? They offer you packages with a shared or private tomcat.. None of them is worth it. The shared one can be down at any time because anyone can fire a restart. The private has a very slow performance, since it is hosted in a shared machine together with other gazillions of tomcats. The say you can hire extra memory for your tomcat and I did that. Tyler Vincent ( tyler@h... ) | Their website says they offer unlimited domains but that isn't the case once you sign up for a shared Tomcat account. In fact you can't add any domains at all so in my case I was stuck with the provided 4java subdomain, which is useless.
Support wait was annoying, with hours and hours between answers to open tickets.

Up-time has been good.
However, response and service is on the low side of BAD when the sh-- hits the fan.
This has occurred more than once now.
Our websites have been down for 24 hr .
No human response from email.
No Server status reported on this or other website
Can't log in, Can't use Webmail, Can't retrieve email via POP
No person on the end of their phone. No downtime msg. either.
Our business runs over the web. [...]

I have been hosting my site topmedicalsites(dot)us for a year and 8 months and I can say that I have downtime only two times, but when I send a support ticket to their staff, the problems were solved within an hour and I should add that they are really patient with me.
