Once upon a time on an island far, far away....
It all started back in 1997. Dave, our founder, was building a website and was in need of a guestbook.
He combed the Web, looking for a decent free guestbook service, and came to realize that the few services available were either too hard to install, or too limited to be of much use. All he wanted was a simple, full featured guestbook for his site.

The solution enables SMBs to rapidly customize and deploy a virtual spokesperson, salesperson or customer service rep to their Web site, helping companies to boost their traffic, site stickiness and conversions. Thousands of SMBs pay a monthly subscription fee for SitePal, which can provide hosting partners with over $100 of additional annual revenue per subscriber. Web tools, domain and hosting services Bravenet (bravenet.com) has been offering the SitePal solution to its growing base of professional members for over six months. The service typically signs up 4,000 new SitePal customers per month. missanonymous ( missadnauseam@g... ) | I think if you're looking for a free host, you can try other hosting sites that offer more space such as Zymic which is pretty good but for the most part, if you're looking for free hosting, it's not terrible. They offer you a lot of stuff for someone who's a free member. Of course, Free sites are way too limited in what you can do with them. Of course, if you're paying for it, it's awful, go with sites like Bluehost or GoDaddy.

There really is nothing else out there that has so many free features to include blog, classifieds, guest books etc. I have four free sites and use many of their features. The customer service has been pretty good....not perfect but pretty good. I usually get fast response time. The free sites offer a great deal of bandwidth and a number of options for site building. It does take awhile to figure everything out and I wish there were better tutorials but since I have [...]

Greg Gallagher ( ggallagher@n... ) | Unfortunately they were the 1st hosting company I found and I was loyal to them for over 4 years. Then my eyes opened to so much more possiblities which there are out there. They have nothing to offer compared to cheaper hosting plans. They are expensive and offer very little. Unfortunately I paid a head for my hosting and when I tried to get a refund I got a huge run around.
