De hoofd configuratie bestaat uit Juniper (m-series) en Cisco (Cisco 7600-S) routers, Extreme Networks switchen, en op maat gemaakte redundante firewalls. Dit alles is verbonden met niet minder dan 7 carriers, namelijk Cogent Communications, Verizon Business/MCI, Level 3 communications, FreeBIX, AMS-IX, ProXimity en eXpress. Hierdoor zijn we in staat om een backbone capaciteit van 10gigabit/s te leveren. De IHS hardware is gesitueerd in Minkels Cold Corridor racks. Dit is een uniek concept dat bestaat uit innoverende afgesloten racks om een zo goed mogelijke koel capaciteit te verkrijgen. Het systeem is gebaseerd op het principe om de koude en warme lucht stromen volledig gescheiden te houden. Dit leidt tot een significante efficiëntie verbetering. Dit wordt bereikt door de dak sectie tussen tegen over elkaar staande racks met glazen panelen af te sluiten. Beide kanten van de koude gang zijn ook afgesloten met schuifdeuren. Bijkomend zijn alle racks met zijpanelen uitgevoerd, en met blank panelen tussen de rack apparatuur. Op deze manier is de enige route van de koude lucht door de apparatuur. Alle warme lucht wordt gedumpt in de kamer waarna de airco deze terug zal koelen en deze terug zal injecteren in de koude gangen. Het grote voordeel van dit systeem is dat er een veel kleiner verschil is tussen de temperatuur aan de boven- en onderkant van de racks dan bij conventionele racks het geval is. Verder is het constante updaten en vernieuwen van hardware en software om een zo goed mogelijk hosting omgeving te creëren een van de grote doelen van InterHost Solutions.
