Backing up your Data
To guarantee there is never lost data, our daily backups are supplemented with a weekly snapshot of every server for use on our hot spare systems, which allows us to rapidly move your website to an alternate physical machine in the event of any type of failure or emergency. Each weekly snapshot is a fully bootable copy of the server; combining this with our daily backup gives us a complete copy of an entire server that can be accessed immediately and is always available to prevent any service interruptions.

For the safety of your data, these daily backups and weekly images are maintained in a fault tolerant RAID hard disk array with a total of nearly 15 terabytes of storage available for rapid data backup and restoration. By maintaining such a large backup system, Jumpline.com's protection will be available to you no matter what the space requirements of your business may be.

Each of our Dell PowerEdge hosting servers is powered by the latest technology and are built for speed. Our server components are the highest quality available, not off-the-shelf components found in a standard desktop computer. Performance-tuned components, such as dual processors, give our hosting customers a boost of speed even under heavy traffic. ECC RAM prevents any failures or crashes due to corrupted memory, and SATA hard drives provide the highest performance available. Even the network interfaces are optimized for speed, connected to the systems PCI-X bus to alleviate network bottlenecks and wasted CPU time spent processing network connections.

Jumpline.com is committed to the highest possible reliability, and we have built a world-class custom backup solution in partnership with IBM to insure that your data is always safe. Each of our hosting servers is backed up daily using IBM's Tivoli Storage Manager, and our customers can request a restore of data for up to 30 days (based on your plans backup schedule) in the event that a file is accidentally overwritten or deleted. By utilizing the Tivoli Storage Manager system, our engineers have rapid access to your data and can help you bring your data back online in the event of an accidental deletion.

Disaster Preparedness
For security in the event of a catastrophe, our backup disk array is continually mirrored in one of our alternate datacenters. These backups provide an added layer of protection to your data for an unexpected “worst case scenario”. Additionally, spare servers and disks are available in a separate location away from our primary datacenters for emergencies, allowing us to provide website service to you even in the face of natural disasters or other major catastrophes that simply cannot be planned for. Combined with our environmentally controlled and secure datacenters, you can rest assured that your data and website will always be available.

Restoring your Data
With your data securely stored in our multi-level backup system, the next step is restoring the required information back to your website. Using the same layered technology that we employ to backup your website content, we are able to reverse the process to restore your website content to a specific point-in-time. Depending on your plan, our backups are available for restore at your request for up to 30 days back.

Through our back up system we are able to go back in time to retrieve full website/data backups for your site from a specific week, then apply the daily changes from that point forward to 'rebuild' the content to the requested restore date. Reliability

I have somehow believed that hosting ratings are not the source to judge by. That they are crammed with advertising pitch and all stuff of this kind, and have nothing to do with the real-life experiences of webmasters. Still, I came to change my opinion after my experience with Jumpline. Jumpline Celebrates 10 Years - Web hosting provider Jumpline.com (jumpline.com) announced on Wednesday that it is launching a promotion in celebration of its tenth year in the business.


Jumpline says it is launching a progressive dedicated server offering to complement its existing shared and VDS hosting models. All Jumpline dedicated servers will come pre-installed with the Sphera SaaS delivery suite, which provides key components to building a successful SaaS business, says the company.

When I first signed up 12 years ago, their service was good and I recommended it to several people.
In the last couple of years, I've had mostly email problems where it would quit working and it was take up to a day to correct. Outages lasted for several hours, sometime a day at a time and I would lose email.
The last problem I had was not resolved, and the only recourse I had to get my email working again was to switch providers.

Like the other reviews here, my situation is the same. They charged me a renewal when I specifically stated to cancel my domain. They charged me another year at 5 times the price to "host" a domain that no longer existed. They hide behind a small sentence in the user agreement. Their policy: If you use a credit card, you give them permission to keep automatically renewing you at an exorbitant rate.... They WILL NOT refund your money. They will rip you off. BEWARE.... You will be sorry. AVOID [...]

I was on a VPS system (Virtual Private Server), which was supposed to be unaffected by other sites on the system. The whole selling point of this package, was that no other sites would be able to drag me down.

The reliability of their service was not just horrible, but INCREDIBLY horrible. I experienced the exact same levels of downtime described above. 15-30 minute downtimes REGULARLY (meaning many times per week).

Extremely unhappy. I signed up with Jumpline because it was free for a year. The product was by no means great... or even good, compared to other webhosting providers. After my year was almost up, I purchased hosting through a different company and switched all my websites over with no plans to continue with Jumpline. If you have customer service problems with Jumpline then try calling their 'Director of Customer Service” (who happens to also be the contact person listed on bbb.org) on 614-586-9866.
And be sure to file a complaint with the BBB.org as well.

I'm another one that has gotten charged for a service I no longer wanted. They automatically renewed my account on a credit card they had on file even though it was expired. I submitted a cancellation twice but they claim I didn't. Wow! Even BBB.org says you suck, and that is an extremely hard thing to achive for this pro-business company that gets paid to make companies look good.

Beware the automatic renewal and keeping a credit card on file with Jumpline! I was charged for a service I no longer wanted, and when I tried to cancel, I was told that there are no refunds/grace periods for automatic renewals. See review by Ed Richardson: "It is not possible to cancel the automatic renewal, except in the 30 days before the due date - and then it is hidden. They will take your money and do nothing to solve the problems."

Beware Jumpline - automatic renewal of account, but not of domain (which was dormant anyway) - when I tried to query it, received rude responses. It is not possible to cancel the automatic renewal, except in the 30 days before the due date - and then it is hidden. They will take your money and do nothing to solve the problems.

I switched to Jumpline in 12/09. I've never had so many email issues ever! I have called with issues in January, February, April and June. I'm using Macmail and am not getting consistent email service. I run into issues with mostly outgoing email and friends, family and clients not receiving it. I used to have several accounts with Jumpline when they were Eclipse Hosting. I had good experiences until they were purchased by Jumpline and things went downhill from there. Terrible customer service. Always playing the blame game and never taking responsibility for their service issues. I'd recommend staying far, far away from this company.

I can not say enough bad about Jumpline. I have had so many problems and their support NEVER makes an attempt to make me feel better as a customer. My latest experience is them changing my company MX records and removing ALL "." from them so we did not get email for a day.

When I asked how they would make this up to me and told them I wanted to talk to a supervisor they just ignored me.

I originally came to Jumpline because of the appeal of the VDS and because they are one of the few hosts out there that support ColdFusion.

However, regardless of programming language, I strongly suggest you stay away from Jumpline. Their VDS manager interface is not user-friendly but more importantly, their customer service is atrocious. This company does not value customer service nor listen to their customers voices. I've complained many times since they were purchased even through snail mail to no avail. They don't actually READ your support tickets more like scan them for a general idea and send you a general response. They value closing tickets quickly than actually resolving any problems that may actually be listed there. Shell accounts are the most limited I've ever seen not even allowing chmod or tar.

I have been a customer of Jumpline.com for about 9 years. I have seen other companies come and offer better deals but one thing has kept me a loyal customer to them, a 800 number that I can call and get someone. I am a reseller through them and have over 30 websites. I am extremely satisfied with Jumpline.com service, support and applications. The only thing that i wish they offered is the ability to host my own server. I HIGHLY recommend them.

Jumpline.com is dishonest. I jumped in on the free plan and told them three separate times within a month to cancel my account. They still charged my card $200 and when I disputed the charge they told me too bad and that they wouldn't bill me the following year.

I couldn't believe it when I filed a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and saw they already have 12 complaints!

This webhosting company is the worst I've ever had the misfortune to give money to. To say they hosted my site is actually untrue. The control panel never worked and it was impossible to upload files so my site never actually appeared, but did they try to solve the problem or offer my years payment back. No but I did so through my credit card company on the grounds that jumpline were incapable of supplying the hosting services I paid for. ie Breach of Contract
