Network Solutions Offers .CO Domain Names in Landrush - Company to accept pre-registrations for the .CO ccTLD in the Landrush phase beginning today. Network Solutions, a provider of web-based technology for small business, website creation, web hosting and domain name registration, today announced participation in the Landrush period for the new .CO country code top level domain extension (ccTLD), which begins today. The company avers that open to everyone, from businesses to individuals, the Landrush phase begins at 2 p.m. EDT on June 21, 2010, and runs until 2 p.m. EDT on July 13, 2010. It adds that the retail price for a Landrush .CO domain name is $270 for the first year. The company articulates that the .CO Landrush period is where interested parties can seek to register domains not previously registered through the Grandfathering and Sunrise phases, or otherwise reserved by the Registry or Restricted by Policy. If more than one applicant applies for the same domain, then an auction process will be used to allocate domain names. According to the company, some of the general policies regarding the .CO extension include: - Any person or entity in the world can register .CO domains
- There are no domicile or burdensome documentation requirements
- Registration period is between one and five years, subject to renewal

Decided to give them a try at hosting, lost 30% of my annual fee after trying to get away from them in under 30 days. Terrible Customer Service, no technical support to keep up with all the sales. Have had numerous problems with the webmail client, where I delete one message and it also deletes the message before and/or after it. They "reindex" my mailbox and tell me it's fixed, but it happens again. Stalled my domain transfer, and deleted my nameserver info so that my website is down during the transfer. First, their tech support is nonexistent. The call center staff openly admit to not knowing how to fix any problem. They only act as liasons to forward your problem to "engineering", whom you CAN NOT talk to directly. It takes 48 hours for a message to get from the call center to engineering. Getting anything resolved this way is practically impossible.
Then, you try to cancel. They stall and delay every way imaginable. You have to keep calling back and going [...]

A technical problem with their Perl setup and they tell me it will be up to THREE DAYS to get someone competent to look at it. Multiple calls to reps with various levels of English and technical ability all to no avail. Huge waste of time. TERRIBLE HOSTING.

I currently use multiple hosts including Godaddy, Netfirms, Dreamhost, vistapages, rogers and yahoo but Network Solutions is BY FAR THE WORST, hands down! I switched from an e-commerce package to a hosting package and they still kept charging me for the e-commerce package. I repeatedly called to let them know they were still charging me. Every time I called they told me the billing dept would email me, because they only communicate through email.
