All of PhotonVPS premium hardware and network are housed in 600 W 7th Street , Los Angeles, California in the XO facility. All hardware, routers, and staff are under PhotonVPS supervision. This allows us to provide quality support and uptime at an affordable price. Facility is at a N+2 fail over including VPS nodes. Each cabinent has an extra machine on "standby" which allows fast fail over without hours of downtime other VPS providers experience. Room temperature is at 65 F ensuring hardware longevity.
Who are your bandwidth providers ?
PhotonVPS has chosen the best of the best in means of bandwidth providers, in order to provide high network efficiency and full redunancy. We only utilize Tier-1 multi-homed providers, running on full fiber. We have 20GBps direct fiber to our main provider, Level(3) Communications. We have 2GBps direct fiber to Global Crossing, XO Communications, and BTN. In order to support our network, we also have 1GBps of direct fiber to SAVVIS, Sprint, Verio, MCI, Tiscali, T-Systems, Telia, as well as LA-IIX and Any2.

The support team is also very educated and highly trained in this field and makes hosting easy and fun. not given ( orubel@g... ) | I'm a contractor with a company that is doing work for a major company and Photon basically borked our demo. They are unresponsive, do not answer their phones, do not respond to emails, the servers have long delays of unresponsiveness, and when putting in tickets about issues, they close them out instantly. All voicemail boxes (including sales) are full and no one responds.
DO NOT USE THEM>>> EVER!!!!

Josh ( josh@h... ) | I signed up for PhotonVPS over VPSland, simply because VPSland is supposed to have horrible service/uptime. Overall, they are pretty good. Ran into some difficulties running the software I wanted to run, but other than that it was fine. Wasn't AMAZING service, but it was fast and quick. Price was decent, there are cheaper, but once again, you get what you pay for.

First run-in I had was that one of our apps ran out of memory and I couldn't SSH in. I requested 30 minutes notice prior to a reset, and gave them a config snippet to edit so the app didn't start up. Not only did they not follow my instructions, they restarted the VPS without notifying us and we lost data.
Second, disk access is ridiculous. It takes 5 seconds to save a 5KB [...]

cariappa ( cariappats@g... ) | they told that there is a heat in the server so will be shut down for some time after a day they said there was a grid in the server and they have o format it fully they told they have a back up of my site. now they gave a vps with full of errors and they just gave a database backup. and they dont have a site back up. photonvps sucks.

1. The server experienced unable to login... They rebuild the server, I thought it was some technical issues, and since there is not much data loss, and I don't mind to re start my web-site building from scratch.

Tom ( -no email- ) | PhotonVPS has to be one of the best companies I have ever dealt with. I work in customer service by profession and their support is top-class. All tickets so far have been responded to within 10 minutes - regardless of what time I send them.. Most get answered before I even have chance to log on to my email account, and all get answered by a polite and patient engineer who deals directly with the problem.
Excellent value and activation for most people seems to only take about an hour or less [...]

After a few days of playing around on SSH and tips the support team provided, I was able to control and understand how a VPS system works. In addition, they were able to help me with some general PCI compliance issues I found with my scanner. Great customer service and support!

- We do not oversell our services.
- Semi-managed.
- Weekly backups on separate hard drive for fast extraction.
- BBB member since 2004, so we value customer satisfaction.
But i'm not expected the server specification its fast and most of all, they help me out to install some scripts and guiding me with security measures.
In my hosting experience, this company would be best for me.
