Spry Hosting Moves to Fortress Facility - Web hosting provider Spry Hosting (spry.com) announced on Thursday it has migrated its hardware and clients to the new Fortress Data center in Seattle, Washington. The new data center is designed to create maximum reliability, efficiency and speed, in all areas of a Web hosting environment. With infrastructure to spare, Spry's new facility will enable stable and long-term growth opportunities leveraging this purpose built data center facility. "Often data center space for hosting companies is a mess of hardware thrown in a room, with modifications and adjustments to make everything operable," says Cameron Jones, Spry president and founder. "Spry's new facility has been engineered from the ground up for mass scale hosting on an ultra reliable foundation. Consistently providing Spry customers with the best in quality, service, and support has always been our main goal. This data center expansion marks the commitment to that goal." The new datacenter is an 18,000 square foot facility with 18" raised floors, controlled access, FM2000 fire suppression, security monitored and is patrolled around the clock. Qwest, AboveNET, XO, Savvis, ELI, Level3 and Mzima all provide fiber connectivity access to the facility. The data center has a long term capacity of over 45,000 servers in a footprint of 18,000 square foot. [ ... search all spry.com news ] No official account on Twitter yet! November 23, 2010 Phil ( phil@g... ) | We have been migrated to the new data center as well with the result that performance has gone down. Before the migration the service was good, absolutely no problems in over three years. It's a real shame they have gone down hill, we'll be leaving as soon as is practicable.

September 29, 2010 John Doe ( john@d... ) | Spry is terrible. I was with them 4 years and when the migrated they broke my VPS because the kernel was no longer compatible with some extension for Perl — of course, they blamed me and it never got fixed so I jumped ship and couldn't be happier. Don't even consider SPRY if you want decent support! They are dolts.. Lyle is great, but the rest are idiots that only know how to reboot thinking that will solve your problems. Uptime after migration was also atrocious.. was down for days at a [...]

August 31, 2010 Steve ( info@c... ) | I've been a customer with Spry for about 6 years and until about a year ago they were OK. Recently, after a number of outages and other problems, I decided to shift my email hosting from a Spry server to a managed Rackspace solution. Our email is mission critical, and after a 2 day outage with no email it was time to call "time out". Their customer relations truly suck! They provide no affirmative feedback. They've gotten worse and I've gone from raving about them to loathing the company. I had [...]

June 1, 2010 -anonymous- ( -no email- ) | On May 25, 2010 Spry migrated my account to a "new" data center. My site has been down as much as up since then. I've had a support ticket open since then and they are either unwilling or incapable of resolving the problem.
I've tried emailing, calling and hand no progress on the issue. They say they are "researching" the issue. I don't want a term papar on crappy service I just want it fixed. I suspect the new data center in in the basement of their mom's house with a Dial-up modem for [...]
