You know, after doing development with a number of PHP / MySQL hosting services, we did a reasonable evaluation of Arvixe - and all looked good. Things were not perfect - but all worked well.... at least until RIGHT after the 60 day refund period - since then, the support only responds (at 1am - can you say 'off shore?'), and then only to say 'it must be something wrong with you...'
Trying to do serious development with a team in multiple cities, on multiple machines (most of our development staff are Linux-based, experienced software developers) - yet we've received comments, such as: 'Have you rebooted your cable-modem or router?', c'mon boys, this ain't no cheesy Windows operation on our side - we were under the impression YOU were professional.
We're already being forced to look for a REAL web-hosting service prior to our site launch.
If Arvixe can't handle maintaining a ftp connection for more than 30 seconds OR being able to go for 6 hours without the WHOLE SERIES of sites be off-line for minutes at a time, then I won't subject OUR customers to such crap.
We have tried contacting you to find your account as we were not able to find your email address or your name in our customer database. We have yet to receive a response to specifically look into this case.
In general, I'm assuming that you have not contacted us over the phone or live chat. We have staff members working around the clock 24/7/365, even during holidays such as new year's and Christmas. And our average response time is 30 seconds on both phone and live chat.
As far as your issues with the FTP connection, please note that on our PersonalClass line of services, customers are limited to 10 simultaneous processes at any moment so if you do have more than 10 processes, the extras are stopped. This would cause your FTP connection to be terminated if you have a popular website which starts a lot of PHP processes. Please respond to our Quality Assurance email so we can specifically look into your case. -- arvixe.com representative
