UK domain registrar 123-reg (123-reg.co.uk) announced on Tuesday it has registered the six millionth .uk domain name, klassikbuilders.co.uk, for a Merseyside, UK-based firm. 
A recent YouGov survey revealed that UK Internet users are six times more likely to choose a .uk over a .com address when looking for information via an Internet search engine.  "Domain name registrations show no sign of slowing down - especially .co.uk extensions, which are increasingly valuable for UK businesses," says Mark Beyer, sales and marketing director at 123-reg. "Having a local domain also helps towards boosting online search rankings. The registration process is really simple and you can have a domain name and Web site homepage live on the world wide Web in no time." Each domain name registered with 123-reg includes free extras, such as images from iStockphoto, a £5 gift voucher from Firebox and an InstantSite homepage. Customers also receive full DNS control via its online control panel and free Web and email forwarding.
