IBM Provides Hosting and Management for Asera Mar 22, 2002
Asera Inc. (asera.com), a commerce, supply chain and e-marketplace solutions provider for enterprises, announced on Thursday that it has chosen to work with IBM as the company?s provider of Web hosting services, and preferred supplier of applications management to Asera?s customers.

According to Asera, the company?s customers have broad commerce and supply chain solution requirements within the chemicals, high-tech and discrete manufacturing industries.
Asera says its customers have infrastructure requirements that demand highly reliable technology solutions capable of handling mission-critical business transactions. The Web hosting solution provided by IBM, says Asera, brings a robust, proven technology to back the company?s offering, and a compelling incentive for Asera?s customers.
The transition of its Web hosting patronage to IBM, says Asera, will allow the company to concentrate on its core business of supplying the technology to build real-time commerce and supply-chain solutions, designed to extend investments in legacy ERP software applications.
"We chose IBM, the leader in Web-hosting as measured by IDC,? says David Murphy, president and chief executive officer of the privately held Asera, Inc., ?to enable our global customers to leverage IBM's unparalleled experience, its support of open standards, and its Web-hosting services in areas such as security."
As part of the new business relationship, Asera says it will expand its e-business solutions to include IBM?s infrastructure technologies, including IBM WebSphere Application Server, IBM MQSeries and DB2 Universal Database.
