Sprint and Dell Collaborate to Host SMBs web hosting news |

(sprint.com), a global integrated communications provider, and Dell (dellhost.com), a premiere computer
systems company,have formed an alliance to optimize the core offerings
of both organizations.
Sprint and Dell expect the alliance, which focuses on
enhancing and growing Web hosting and e-commerce
offerings to the small and medium business markets, to
generate hundreds of millions of dollars in sales
between the two companies over the next seven years.
Under the agreement, Sprint and Dell will work
together to develop a comprehensive array of bundled
hosting solutions tailored to the growing needs of SMB
customers. Sprint will use Dell PowerEdge servers and
PowerVault storage in its hosting business and Dell
will purchase selected telecom services from Sprint.
"This relationship allows us to integrate IP, frame
relay, broadband and wireless solutions into our
existing Web-hosting product and to offer those
products at leading service levels and competitive
price-points," said Mike Arterbury, general manager
for DellHost. "Sprint's ongoing commitment to the
small and medium business marketplace made them the
top choice for an access provider."
Both companies say the alliance builds off the
strengths of each other's core businesses. Sprint's
capabilities in communications transport and Dell's
expertise in enterprise equipment, including PowerEdge
Servers and PowerVault Storage and Internet
infrastructure, combine to bring SMBs a robust and
reliable Web hosting solution specifically tailored to
their needs.
The addition of Web hosting for SMBs complements
Sprint's already extensive broadband offerings for
customers, including Sprint ION - Sprint's converged
