(diveo.net), a leading provider of Internet infrastructure and broadband services in Latin America, announced yesterday that Carlson Wagonlit, one of the world's largest travel agency networks selected Diveo to manage and host their latest business-to-business initiative.
Carlson Wagonlit has developed a B2B portal that facilitates online travel
arrangements and transactions for its corporate customers throughout the
Brazil, named the Smart Traveler management system. Developed by Spectrum
Engenharia (spectrum.com.br), the application manages the process of creating, detailing and approving business travel requests.
The software uses a Java to Enterprise Edition platform (J2EE) for a Web
environment that demands a scalable infrastructure that can handle heavy
traffic.
"We chose Diveo after performing a competitive survey of Internet data
center providers that focused on criteria we believe is important for the
success of our online business, including overall
infrastructure, physical and logical security, service quality, and customer
response time,"' said Roberto Bernucci, IT manager for Carlson Wagonlit
Brasil.
To support this complex e-commerce site, Diveo is supplying Carlson Wagonlit
with a dedicated hosting solution, including high-powered Compaq Proliant
servers running on Windows 2000 with a comprehensive managed hosting suite.
The Tambore data center offers networking, physical facilities and
