Use submit form for hosting news!| SWsoft Sponsors Video Contest Oct 24, 2007 | Server automation and virtualization provider SWsoft (swsoft.com) announced on Wednesday that it is sponsoring a video contest (parallels.com/videocontest). The contest encourages amateur and professional filmmakers from around the world to create a video under the theme "Why Choose?" to reflect how users now don't need to choose between a Mac or PC when using Parallels Desktop for Mac software.
SWsoft says entrants are encouraged to use any artistic medium, such as a short film, animation, song, narration or photography, to share an experience where they didn't have to choose between two great options. Videos must be three minutes or less in length and do not actually need to include Parallels Desktop for Mac or any kind of computer technology, says the company. Rather, any experience that involves taking advantage of two or more choices, instead than sacrificing one for the other, is valid for entry.
"The 'Why Choose?' contest encapsulates what Parallels is all about: not having to choose between two, or more, great options," says Benjamin Rudolph, director of corporate communications at Parallels. "Our intent is to give creative minds a global venue to share an experience where they accomplished more by taking advantage of all the options in front of them, rather than just picking one or the other."
The grand prize winner will receive a trip for two to MacWorld 2008 in San Francisco, as well as a fully-loaded filmmaker's kit that includes a new 17" MacBook Pro, a Sony HDR-SR7 HD handycam camcorder and a filmmaking software bundle. Runner-up prizes include a 13" Macbook with Windows XP Professional running on Parallels Desktop and an 8GB iPhone. Each of the top ten finalists will also receive a free copy of Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac.
