Aplus.Net Migrates to Phoenix Facility Feb 21, 2008
Web hosting provider Aplus.Net (aplus.net) announced on Thursday it has successfully migrated a key segment of its dedicated server hardware to a new state-of-the-art data center in Phoenix, Arizona. The data center is Aplus.Net's second, along with its original San Diego-based facility.

The migration involved the transportation of 2,600 servers including firewalls, load balancers, KVM switches and all other related equipment. The company made the move during off-peak hours over a span of several weeks, reducing service interruption times for customers, says the company.

"We're proud to announce the successful completion of Phase I of our new Phoenix data center," announced Ryan Elledge, Aplus.Net's chief operations officer. "As we move on to Phase II, we'll be sharing further announcements about our progress in optimizing and further growing our capabilities in this brand-new facility."

The new 25,000 square feet data center features direct fiber-optic connectivity, uninterruptible power from multiple UPS systems, a back-up diesel generator and sophisticated climate-control systems. Aplus.Net has partnered with six major Internet backbone providers to provide a multi-homed bandwidth that is best-suited for continuous connectivity.

Aplus.Net announced last week it rebranded its line of dedicated hosting servers.
