While there isn't always much to excite about promotional announcements, LunarPages' new bundle does a lot to expand the features of its service, and to define the product its customers will be using. With dedicated hosting (www.lpdedicated.com) starting at $99 per month, virtual servers priced at $39.95 and shared servers at less than five dollars, LunarPages is poised to attract users that want to have more control over their website and the right tools. The company partnered with 10 software firms to provide fully registered versions of programs ranging from security to design software, creating a nice suite of programs, as well as access to some advertising services.
The promo offers 15 Gafana (www.gafana.com) accounts for spam and virus protection. It also includes DMXReady's Contact Us Manager (www.dmxready.com), a utility that manages and displays staff member contact information for a corporate website for easy updating.
Geared less toward the network as a whole is FileStream's Winsettings (www.filestream.com), a windows security program that ensures individual computers do not fall prey to viruses, but also increases PC performance.
Also from FileStream is backup program Photo TurboBackup, which archives photos in various formats.
Interestingly, LunarPages offers several marketing solutions alongside their software. The promo includes a three month subscription to Visitorville (www.visitorville.com), showing website visitors as though they were characters from the game Sims. Among the other incentives include $100 of advertising from LinkWorth (www.linkworth.com) and $20 from BidVertiser (www.bidvertiser.com).
Not only is this an interesting deal from LunarPages, but it is also a decent overview of some software and services that may interest the dedicated server user.
Last week, LunarPages reported that it had partnered with reputation management services company RatePoint, making that company's platform available to LunarPages customers. | Reads: 936 | Category: General | Source: TheWHIR : Web Host Industry Reviews URL source: http://www.thewhir.com/marketwatch/062408LunarPages_Adds_Software_Bundle.cfm
