Easyspace Offers Customized Plans Jul 16, 2008
In an effort to differentiate itself from competing hosting providers, something that most web hosts are striving to do in an ever-commoditizing market, UK-based web host Easyspace (easyspace.com) announced on Wednesday that it has launched a customizable "Pic 'n' Mix" web hosting service (easyspace.com/picnmix.php).


Aside from the pre-configured packages it already offers, the company says it has "taken this innovative step" to "further simplify the web hosting purchase process for customers."

Easyspace says home users or businesses can specifically customize five key components of their package, including disk space, bandwidth, mailboxes and choosing between a Linux or Windows-based system and monthly or yearly payment plans. Interested parties can pick between five and 200 mailboxes, one and 20GB of disk space and between three and 50GB of bandwidth, based on what they require.

All plans also come with default features, including a free domain name, daily backups, webmail access, database options, firewall protection, password protection, web stats and customer support service.

"Customers no longer need to buy an all singing, all dancing, pre-built package if all they require is a lot of disk space, for example," says Errol Vanderhorst, sales and marketing director for Easyspace. "Our Pic 'n' Mix technology allows customers to determine the specification and cost of their own package, meaning if they simply want more bandwidth or more disk space, they can have it at the slide of a selection bar without the need to buy a more expensive package which includes additional features that they simply won't use."

The company says costs for the Pic 'n" Mix package range from as little as $2.50 to around $60.00 per month depending on the choices the customer makes.

Last week, Easyspace announced it is offering a range of virtual private server package add-ons including a Burstable RAM service on its Linux Packages and automated backup services for both Windows and Linux servers.
