Use submit form for hosting news!| NetMagic Opens Fourth Data Center Jul 24, 2008 | According to reports on Thursday, India-based managed hosting provider NetMagic (netmagicsolutions.com) announced the opening of a new data center - its largest to date - in Mumbai.
The 40,000 square foot facility is NetMagic's fourth data center in India, with two others situation in Mumbai and one in Bangalore. There is also a virtual site in Sunnyvale, California.
The company says it has been expanding aggressively in the country in response to the growing demand for managed hosting and data center services.
Earlier this year, the 10-year-old company received $20 million in financing, courtesy of Fidelity International and Nexus India Capital, to expand locally and on an international playing field. According to reports on Indo-Asian New Service, NetMagic is also planning new facilities in Chennai and Delhi during this fiscal year.
IT consultancy firm BroadGroup Consulting released a new report in June with findings showing that the data center market in India is experiencing substantial growth and will reach more than $1.5 billion in value by 2010.
"We have always been a company that is proactively aligned to market needs and customers," said Sharad Sanghi, CEO and founder of NetMagic Solutions in a press conference. "In response to the high demand for best in class, global standard data centers, we are delighted to inaugurate this data center today. This large facility will fulfill the crying need of enterprises and SMB organizations in India for data center space, ample power, connectivity and world class infrastructure."
NetMagic says this new facility reinforces its commitment to the Indian market and the "state-of-the-art NOC facility will ensure year-round monitoring and management support to its clients" around-the-clock.
NetMagic's president, Sandip Gupta, will be at HostingCon 2008 in Chicago next week to present a session titled, "Infrastructure Management Skills Shortage: Are you Prepared for the Inevitable?" where he will discuss strategies hosts can use to deal with an apparent upcoming shortage of data center management skills. | Reads: 778 | Category: General | Source: TheWHIR : Web Host Industry Reviews
