The web host is now offering its EVault Backup for $1 per GB, down from $2, while its Network Backup product is now priced at $0.50 per GB, down from $1.
Though The Planet announces a new sale or promotion on what seems to be a weekly basis, this reduced list pricing differs in that it significantly lowers the price of its server backup products as opposed to just another temporary promotion.
The price reduction follows a recent upgrade to the company's managed storage infrastructure, which provides customers with additional storage space and enhanced performance.
"Storage and backup are increasingly critical for small- and medium-sized companies, since data loss can actually drive a company out of business," says Rob Walters, The Planet's general manager of storage and data protection. "Now any organization can protect data - which can literally mean the difference between success and failure ? for as little as $5 per month. At this affordable rate, there?s no excuse to leave critical data unprotected."
EVault Backup includes an intuitive interface, with rich backup functionality from data-protection provider EVault. Planet Alpha's Network Backup provides archiving space available directly through customer applications and tools, and it features standard protocols.
Both solutions are available in 10GB to 80GB or larger capacities for mission-critical environments.
The company is also offering a free 90-day trial on all new orders of EVault Backup and Network Backup from now through September 30.
