Use submit form for hosting news!| AIHSP Seeks Pros As Advisers Aug 28, 2008 | The Association of Internet and Hosting Service Providers (aihsp.org) is looking for industry professionals to join five advisory subcommittees, responsible for critiquing and improving the organization's core initiatives.
According to the trade association's announcement Thursday, there will be five subcommittees addressing the topics: benefits and professional services; standards and ethics; industry representation and advocacy; systems and infrastructure; and research investigations.
AIHSP plans for subcommittees to meet online and teleconference over a six week period to guide and advise AIHSP to help it reach its inaugural goals, which include forging stronger community ties within the marketplace, building better relations with the general public, and drawing moral and ethical guidelines.
"Our advisory subcommittees will play an important role in shaping the future of this organization, laying the groundwork for the realization of our goals," AIHSP founding committee president Paul Hirsch said in a statement.
"Today, we are a small but agile group of dedicated volunteers, and we see these advisory subcommittees as an opportunity to involve the greater community and benefit from the collective wisdom therein. It is crucial that AIHSP be driven by its constituents, and that the energy and founding philosophy be widespread among the vast spectrum that is the Web hosting and Internet services industry."
Launched last month at HostingCon 2008, AIHSP's mission is to unify the Web hosting and Internet services industries, using their collective power "to resolve problems within the marketplace and provide greater public and political representation."
