Use submit form for hosting news!| Sify Opens Facility in Mumbai Aug 28, 2008 | IT services provider Sify Technologies (sifycorp.com) announced on Thursday it has opened a data center in Airoli, Mumbai, the company's fourth data center, in an effort to meet the growing demands of the country's commercial capital.
The company will invest $43,014,848 USD for the 100,000 square foot data center, which features Tier III compliant cooling and power systems and advanced building management systems.
The facility is housed in a newly constructed structure that spans multiple floors. Sify says the data center is built accordingly to meet industry requirements, adhering to the IS 1893:1984 standard for earthquake resistant structural design.
"The Airoli data center is a key facet of our strategy to develop the most sophisticated network and data center infrastructure to facilitate the evolution and demand for services such as commerce, online banking and corporate ERP, etc," says A.J. Nat, executive president for Sify Enterprise Services.
Sify says it will invest about $91,470,626 in the next two years to meet the growing demand from both the domestic and overseas markets.
The company added that it would set up two world-class data centers in Noida and Bangalore by 2009.
The IT services provider has also been investing in its backbone infrastructure for the purpose of long-term growth, expanding its network to over 500 points of presence and deploying new technologies and standards, according to Sify CFO Vijay Kumar.
