Use submit form for hosting news!| IBM Selects Terremark NAP Sep 22, 2008 | Data center operator and hosting provider Terremark Worldwide (terremark.com) announced on Monday that IBM de Colombia has selected Terremark's NAP de las Americas for colocation services.
According to the most recent announcement, IBM will leverage the infrastructure and connectivity at Terremark's NAP de las Americas in Bogota, Colombia to offer customers its range of IT solutions including integration, business continuity and architecture services.
"We are proud to be working with IBM to provide IT services to enterprises and government agencies in Colombia," says Agustin Abalo, president of Terremark's Latin American Business Unit.
Launched in June, the NAP de las Americas - Colombia is described as a "state-of-the art data center" with connectivity to more than 160 carriers through Terremark's NAP of the Americas in Miami.
Terremark says it was selected by IBM after an "extensive selection process" because of the "value offered by its network-neutral model and reliable infrastructure services."
Although to a different extent, IBM and Terremark have collaborated in the past when China-based online game developer CDC Games announced in February it was hosting its US online infrastructure on IBM servers housed inside facilities operated by Terremark.
The hosting provider has made a couple of key announcements surrounding its utility computing platform over the past few weeks.
Last week, Terremark reported it had partnered with VMware as part of the VMware vCloud Initiative, designed to help both parties bring utility and cloud computing services to the enterprise market.
