Use submit form for hosting news!| CDNetworks Joins Equinix Exchange Sep 22, 2008 | Internet exchange point providers Equinix (equinix.com) and DE-CIX (de-cix.de) announced on Monday that content delivery network CDNetworks (cdnetworks.com) has joined the DE-CIX exchange at Equinix, providing CDNetworks and other DE-CIX customers access to Equinix's colocation services.
This deal follows a previous agreement announced last year to extend the DE-CIX peering infrastructure into the Equinix Frankfurt-2 Internet Business Exchange data center located in the northern part of Frankfurt.
Equinix customers who are joining DE-CIX can directly peer with the extensive DE-CIX customer base of over 260 companies, which will help them increase reliability, improve performance, and reduce the costs of network traffic exchange.
With more than 60 content acceleration nodes globally, CDNetworks' network coverage extends across the Americas and Europe, throughout Asia and other major areas. Its services enable worldwide customers to significantly improve reliability and Internet performance by accelerating delivery of static, dynamic, and video content.
In order to support these services, a robust network connectivity infrastructure must be in place to deliver high levels of availability and performance. Equinix and DE-CIX both provide network-neutral platforms for the interconnection of enterprise, service provider and content networks.
The Frankfurt, Germany-based DE-CIX is a non-profit, neutral and independent Internet exchange that offers direct and settlement-free IP interconnection to the largest aggregation of networks in Central and Eastern Europe.
DE-CIX serves more than 260 customers from 30 countries, including Internet service providers, broadband providers, content delivery networks, web hosting providers, and incumbent operators.

Located in the north of Frankfurt, the FR2IBX provides access to the highly secure facility that uses advanced infrastructure for industry leading resilience and operational efficiency.
