Use submit form for hosting news!| Security Space Surveys Web Servers Jan 12, 2005 | Internet security firm Security Space (securityspace.com) released the results of its Security Space Web Server Survey for the month of December, noting a slight increase in the dominance of the Apache Web server, and a significant jump in WebSTAR deployments.
Security Space says its December data covers 86 domains, and more than 20.7 million Web sites. The company estimates that nearly 90 percent of Web sites exist without links in from other sites, and only counts servers referenced on other sites in its data.
While the number of Web sites with the .com extension grew during December, according to Security Space, the percentage of .com domains among Web sites overall slipped, in a continuing trend.
According to Security Space's data, deployments of the WebSTAR Web server increased by roughly 20,000 to 129,369, with the number of WebSTAR deployments exceeding those of Zeus, which showed 115,698 deployments. | Reads: 908 | Category: General | Source: TheWHIR : Web Host Industry Reviews
