The report said two circuits went down and crashed about half the servers containing IMAP email information, which affects Mulberry and Web-based mail and other email applications.
After the circuits were repaired, each individual server was brought back online one by one. Full service was restored at about 10:00 pm, the report said.
The crash was not an isolated incident. According to the report, there have been several power outage problems at the Arbor Lakes Data Center in recent months. Earlier this month, 23 of the University's servers reportedly crashed, taking down email, the University Web site and other Web-based applications.
An independent power consultant has been hired to assess the situation. | Reads: 818 | Category: General | Source: TheWHIR : Web Host Industry Reviews URL source: http://www.thewhir.com/marketwatch/uni112904.cfm
