0. Introduction.

I had been planning a really funny newsletter this month based on a gag
that everybody had unsubscribed. But now, even a week after the
incident, I'm still not feeling very light-hearted. Hopefully by next
month the whole world climate will have improved a shade. This month's
edition is going to be pretty short and to the point.

We put up a page on victim help resources on our main site here:
http://www.dreamhost.com/helpvictims.html . I'm sure you've all seen
this information countless times in the last seven days, but we thought
there was no harm in another one, and we tried to offer multiple links
in each of the categories of "Donations", "Blood Drives", and "News".

1. Frontpage Extensions support.

Well, after four years of not supporting FrontPage extensions, we're
pleased to announce that we finally do! There isn't going to be much
fanfare to go with the new feature.. it'll just work like this:

If you have CGI enabled (every plan besides Crazy Domain Insane), you
can get Frontpage Extensions enabled for FREE by contacting support and
letting them know the domain name you'd like them turned on for.

Realize, this doesn't support ADO or Access databases or ODBC or
anything like that, it is JUST the Frontpage Extensions (the counters,
buttons, etc.)

Since your site will have to be moved to a server with the Extensions
installed, it will take a few days for the dns to propogate after the
change and your extensions begin to work. So please, don't request the
extensions unless you're really going to use them!

You'll be able to administer your site from this url once it is set up:
http://yoursite.com/_vti_bin/_vti_adm/fpadmcgi.exe

Your username/password for the Frontpage admin area is the same as for
your NDN ID (the one you use at https://panel.dreamhost.com/).

Another caveat.. when you make the switch, your whole site gets chowned
to the "dhapache" user. Kind of sucky, but if you ever decide to switch
off of Frontpage Extensions in the future we can then easily chown it
back!
