Their free hosting service is the best I found so far. No banners, no adds, plus all you can expect for a professional web site hosting:
PHP, Perl(I didn't try yet), MySQL(1 database /w 10Mb, which is enough), FTP, 5 subdomains and you can also use 2 of your own registered domains. The account will never expire(mine is plus than 1 year old!). And the server has a good speed, even for scrips with SQL queries.
I've seen better control panels, but I rarely use it 'cause FireFTP(my favorite FTP client) almost replaces it.
The only negative point is that scripts are not allowed to send eMails in free hosting accounts. This is probably an anti-spam measure and don't expect to find this feature enabled in other free hosting services.

I am using the free plan for agood six months and found it reliable, fast and user friendly. One thing that I miss is a free fully customiseble form mailer in the language of my webpages (Afrikaans) where my visitors could contact me in their own language!

So far so good. Server had no down time so far, relatively fast, the prices could be a bit lower though but I guess that quality comes at a higher price :)

I found awarspace on the internet, searching for a free webhosting, for me, was a really good surprise!!! i think its the best free web hosting that i ever used..with free DNS, FTP that really works and no advertising...

Tried all of these webhosts, and most of them said instant activation. Trying to install my stuff on their server was very much of a hassle because I thought the sites were instantly activated, but most of them were not. However this webhost really was. Also, I noticed that their FTP speed is 2-3 times faster than the others. That is great! I have not even started my website yet, and they are already better than the competition. Good job, guys!

This free hosting web site is by far the best free host I have ever had. I've been using awardspace for a good 7 months and have never had a problem with them, like other free host servers that drop your access to your web site every time something small happens. I have never been more pleased.

Hi there,
I have been using their services for more than 2 years now. At first I decided to give them a chance with the free plan they are offering it was ok though you do not have an SMTP server (can't send mails only receive), which is reasonable-you can not ask for every thing especially for free. This the reason why I updated to Max Pack and since then I am pretty much satisfied with them. By the way you can add a sub domain from your control panel after signing up.

Hi,
Just signed up. It was very each time to get their condition of usage only after sgning.
When I signed for their free deal (not completly free - you have to pay for the domain) i found out that I cannot upload a lot of types of files (.jpg, .zip and more). With thuis and aditional restriction this proved to be unusefull for me.
After buying their EGG plan again I got the terms of usage only after paying them. I hope they don't have any additional hidden clauses in their agrrement.
