I've been hosting on catalog.com for the past three years and the service has gone from good to absolutely terrible. Over the past two years they've raised their rates from $35 per year to almost $90 per year. They also hide hosting details in their FAQ pages. When I had an issue with my billing I was told to go to their FAQ page and do a search for a specific string (How am I as a user supposed to know their specific string to search for?).

Their customer service also leaves much to be desired. The biggest issue is their communication. If you call them "after hours" you will need to wait until the next day (I've dealt with several hosting companies and this is the only hosting site that makes you wait 24hrs for service). If you request to be updated once the request has been completed they will not contact you.

The list of things this company does wrong goes on and on... its a shame since they were so good 3 years ago. Anyways, try someone else. There are a lot of better hosting companies out there that will call you to make sure things are going well and that are a heck of a lot cheaper.

After being a member of Catalog.com's Web Hosting Plan for several years, I was disappointed with their extremely poor customer service and marked-up prices. Overall, Catalog.com is a poor choice in comparison with other web hosting companies that provide better, more responsive customer service and equal if not more features (bandwidth, email, databases, etc.) at cheaper rates.
