Ever since they went to the new server and platform the service sucks. It takes forever for anything to load on our site. They said it was our site files but we loaded a completely new site with nothing in the databases and it take about 5 minutes for the new site to load and then any link you click it takes 5 minutes for that to load. These people have no idea what they are doing and should have just left the whole thing alone. I would recommend anyone looking for a host, look at any place other than dot5.

I did their 3 month at a time, with a one year domain registration. This was a very easy to use company, and they had excellent customer service. I would highly reccomend them to anyone. And I also onened a second site thru them. They are better than others I have tried (like www.register.com )

vDeck is an awful system. The FAQ and knowledge base are not helpful. Most frustrating experience I've ever had as a web designer. I agree, they make it very hard for people who like PHP/MySQL, but I managed to get it working after several hours of trying to figure out how to connect to the databases on my own. I would recommend paying a little more money and getting an easier host to work with.

Dot5 was an account I got because they were cheap. I also purchased a domain through them. Now, trying to move that domain to my reseller account elsewhere, they require you to open a support ticket to get the domain unlocked. Well that was two weeks and several emails and phone calls ago, the domain remains locked, so I either pay eternal hosting costs or lose the domain. I'm ticked off with them, I would NEVER recommend them for any reason.

I decided to go with another company after signing up for dot 5. Dot 5 was not as easy to use or user friendly as they had made it out to be. I cancel within the cancellation policy and it took a lot of e-mails and over a month to recive my money back.

They advertise that you can host up to 6 domains on one account. What they don't tell you is that only one of these domains will have email capabilities!

I didn't need much, so I though I'd get the cheapest one !! They can't even handle my simple Php/MySQL web site. I particulaly made my web-site to be fast... My web-site never got a high transfer rate or good response time !! It was even going down sometimes... I was faster and more reliable on my AMD 900 Mhz, 256mbs html server on a Cable connection !!!

STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY! STAY FAR AWAY! They are horrible. If you have a plain website, go with them. If you are into php/mysql, they are lost. Tech support is ran by a bunch of idiots. They have no people skills. I think they are all foreigners, who can't really speak english! No offence! I'm a foreigner, but at least I can speak english! No customer service training at all. After less than a month, I finally gave up and transferred my site. Thank goodness they offer 90 days money back.

i used this service $5/month i used this service for about a year it didn't really give me to many problems until i wanted to switch Name servers and i wanted to buy my domain name from them, so i paid the $7.95 a year and they still haven't sent me my information i keep asking them to send me the information needed to alter my DNS and to unlock it so i can transfer my domain name to a more reliable domain server.
Its been a week and they keep feeding me this garbage saying you'll recieve an e-mail 6-8 hours i checked every day and nothing yet every day i ask them they keep saying the same crap...
I advise you not to use this service, it is a waste of money their customer service is horrible.

I am pleased to write this review. I have been trying to buy a domain with Dot5Hosting.... Here are the reasons I rate this hosting solution 1/10 !! Maybe they have a good price or good technical specs, but I never been able to register.. And at the end I was just discussed about their unprofesionnal staff.... There it is :
1) I have never had any news from them after buying my domain
2) I had to go chat with the guys online (at least 3 times) to finally have them to sent me an e-mail to ask me to send copies of my credit card
3) They asked me to send pictures of my credit card throught regular (not crypted) mail. When I told them this was an unsafe practice, they said it was for my own security !!!!! Seriously.... How professionnal is this ???????
4) After taking maybe an hour to explain them that I wanted to send them an encrypted file with all the information included, I sent them the e-mail and they just could not RECEIVE IT !!! I AM 100% my e-mail services work properly... Them I did it again, sent the e-mail while talking to the online operator to make sure I do everything properly... The e-mail just didn't went through... I just couldn't imagine if I ever had a problem in the futur and wanted support, I would have taken hours and hoursor even days to explain/contact them !!!!
So , please check make sure you secure your stuff when buying from them. They seem to have really unsafe bussness practicles !!!!! Makes me even wonder if they secure their client information........
I tried to use the cheapest plan ( 1 year, 5$/month)... And I lost at least 10 hours contacting them to arrange everything.... NOT WORTH THE PRICE AT ALL !!!!

I've just been taken for 60 bucks without what they claim a 30 full refund policy. Now I'll have to probagbly eat it and go on my way. Any suggestions?
