I am a victim of an internet crime perpetrated by Global Internet Solutions (GISOL).
GISOL had been hosting my website for a couple of years. Since availability of the site seemed OK, I never asked for support so I was not aware of any problems until March 25, 2008 when my site suddenly became unavailable.
I contacted GISOL tech support the same day via their website’s support ticket feature and was told that “Your domain is expired its in a redemption period you need to wait till the redemption period gets over …and also you need to e-mail this issue to admin@gisol.com”.
I checked my records and found that GISOL had billed my PayPal account for a pre-authorized annual subscription renewal $71.40 on February 8, 2008. However, GISOL neglected to advise me that they had allowed my site's domain name to expire on the same day.
I also found that my domain was registered to GISOL, not in my name as I was led to believe when I signed up for their service. As a result, GISOL has a lock on my domain name so I cannot simply move my site to another host and GISOL is completely unresponsive to my requests for assistance.
I have sent numerous emails to GISOL admin with no response. I have called all the phone numbers on their website plus others that I found on the web but the numbers are either disconnected, never answered or connect me to an outsourced technical support representative that claims to know nothing. I have generated additional tech support tickets only to receive the same advice to wait for GISOL admin to get back to me.
The BBB gives GISOL an F rating per the following review: “Complaints allege unauthorized credit card charges, dissatisfaction with services, and difficulty implementing cancellation and refund policies. Most complainants are unsatisfied with the company’s response and most complaints go unanswered.”
Most of the complaints against GISOL go far beyond dissatisfaction with their services. In my case GISOL committed fraud by accepting payment to host my website even though they had allowed my domain to expire thereby making their offer an empty promise.
I guess I am lucky as many other GISOL customers (and there are literally hundreds of similar reports on the web) have been defrauded of thousands of dollars via a calculated scheme to extort money from customers with "valuable" domain names to insure that GISOL keeps them current.
Others. (like myself) without a valuable domain name (and protected by PayPal) are simply ripped off and then dispatched with the expectation that we will go away to make room for more lucrative “customers”.
It is depressing to have learned that Global Internet Solutions has been committing such fraud on unwary consumers for several years. While my immediate monetary losses are relatively small, I have spent hours attempting to contact GISOL.
Later, when I finally realized that my attempts were futile and that my domain name was not going to be restored, I was forced to register my site under a different name and move it to a new host which cost me additional time and money.
However, my out of pocket losses pale in comparison to the goodwill losses suffered because my customers can no longer reach me under my old domain name, links on other sites referring to my site are now broken and my former search position has been forfeited.
If you need additional evidence I strongly advise you to simply search the internet for "GISOL". You will be surprised at the number of complaints that this search term reveals and the extent of GISOL's fraudulent conduct.

I've been ripped of by Gisol to the tune of $720, after a year of very very poor hosting. They held my domain hostage as they registered it in their name, not mine. I've even decided to set up yet another anti-Gisol website called www.report-gisol.com. Hopefully, you'll leave your experiences there too. Thanks.

You would do better to throw your money down the toilet than to sent it to these crooks.
They charge up front for a three year contract, then suspend it for nanpayment.
Stay away.

Very, very poor all around. Have a genealogy site hosted at Gisol. Had a family member pay the $1000 up front for 3 years. $1000.00! They won't do a second party billing even though it has been prepaid. No refunds. Site has been suspended. No site. No refund. They want another $1000.00 from me before they will refund the initial amount with no guarantees they will send the refund. When we call we get a voice that sounds the same every time but has a different name attached to it. Stay far-far away from these people!

CRAP - never ask for a refund because you will never get it. Just ride out the rest of your crappy term maybe use it for a FTP download host for some crappy IRC channel.
Checkout this Chat I had 2 different hosted sites go down at GISOL without warning:
Sonny: Hello and welcome to GISOL Live Chat Support. I am Sonny here to assist you with your issue.
Chris: hello Sonny
Sonny: Please give me few minutes to check this out.
Chris: We aere recieving a service unavailable error on our site
Chris: thanks
Sonny: thank you for waiting.
Chris: no problem
Sonny: Your site is taking more memory and cpu resources
Sonny: Due to this other users on the server get affected.
Sonny: Please optimize your website and contact us back
Chris: the last time i looked there where 60 active users
Chris: What does gisol consider an exceptable level
Chris: Is there a point at which I'm warned as opposed to the site dropping off the internet
Sonny: The site should not take most of the cpu and memory resources. There is no specific limit for this
Chris: Then what determinse when a service unavailable error is shown?
Sonny: The cpu usage should not be more as we also provide unlimited bandwidth. The main concern is the cpu usage.
Sonny: Please check with your web developer regarding this and contact us back.
Chris: it only serves out zip files. CPU usage? how do you work that out
Chris: Thank you
Chris: This site has only been working for 2 weeks after being down for almost a month
Chris: when can I have a working service?
Sonny: thank you for waiting.
Chris: no problem
Chris: cpu usage again?
Chris: for zip file downloads
Sonny: We have set the site in a different application pool as we are invetigating the issue of high cpu usage
Chris: so when will it be up?
Chris: sugar888.com was originally created due to stuff ups with sugarmanga.com
Sonny: Our senior technician is checking on this.
Chris: both sites down puts me right off the internet
Chris: when will I here back from the senior tech?
Chris: soon I hope
Chris: A internet business off the internet great work gisol
Sonny: There would be scripts in your site that is taking high cpu usage.
Sonny: You have to check on that.
Chris: not in sugar888.com

About GISOL.COM, I know what I am talking about, they have a very poor uptime and bad customer service. I am sure many heard the sentence "Seniour technicians are dealing with the issue and it should be back online in a couple of hours"... do some search in google and you will see. oh yes, think there is a money back as stated on their homepage? Forget it!
oh yes, think globat is the same company be aware!

WARNING!!! These statements are NOT exaggerations. This is serious stuff. Please be wary and stay away from this company.
When you go to cancel your account (In my case it was within one week) it says "Global Internet Solutions does not issue refunds for its services"
But in the FAQ and product page it says:
"Money Back Guarantee Anytime"
"If you're within the 30-day money-back guarantee, all fees, except for domain registration fees, will be returned to you."
There was not a 99.999 up time. It was about 75% (if you count a 5-10 minute load time for a basic web page) Otherwise maybe 25% (ballpark)
Sometimes the server would just time out. And sometimes it wouldn't resolve and I know for a fact that my internet was fine and all the DNS was in order.
The server was slow. Sometimes a simple web page took about 10 minutes to load. (Their server peaked at 150KBps)
Every time I seek assistance about the server not responding or just being extremely slow all they do is check it and say your domain is working fine now then a few hours later I checked and it’s the same thing.
I think most of there support is just chat bots.
Their advertisement and sales are deceiving and they are false. They reset their countdown clock for sales every day and when they call you for activation they tell you it's the last day and that sale won’t apply unless you get a 30 month bill cycle which you pay upfront.
When their server does actually load if 2 people are viewing a page at one time it drops down and takes a few minutes or times out..
Their control panel is lame. Any option you pick it just list your domains and you pick a domain but no option is there. Everything is manual.
The list goes on..
They are worthless if you are looking to have hosted the smallest most simple web page. A fee web host would be more worth your money.
Please contact me if you wish to see proof and/or documentation of these statments.
