I am now with Synchronicity - who replied to this thread. Robyn and Daniel offer real support and are great to deal with. I totally reccommend them as a cheap hosting alternative to Host Smart - they helped me get my domains from Host Smart back too

to the person above who said they love hostsmart and we dont know what we are talking about, well excuse me but you obviously are the muel for these fools.
They offer: 24/7 technical support, 100% uptime, 30 day money Back, DAILY BACKUPS. blablabla.
I understand they are cheap, but when they quote the above it is meant to be included in the plan, there for they are agreeing to a legal document between you are them (the hosting company) to up hold this agreement. How ever they do not, i have got over 100 hours of down time in a few months documented, no reply to my emails unless i was wanting to upgrade something (money), phone number doesnt work, 24/7 live chat rarely has someone on it, i cought someone on it once in months and they couldnt help me just gave me an email address which never replied.
Last but not least,here is an awesome one for you, I had a MySQL database with days of work on it for my shopping cart, 2 domain names running and hosted files + documentation of website and scripts.
THEIR WEBSITE SERVER CRASHED, WAS DOWN FOR 6 DAYS WITH NO CUSTOMER WARNING, APOLOGY, NOTHING, OH AND THEY DO NOT DO BACKUPS BECAUSE THEY CANT GET MY CONTENT BACK AND WONT REPLY TO ME NOW ABOUT ANYTHING!

I AM GOING AHEAD WITH LEGAL ACTION WITH THIS JOKERS, I WILL NOT HAVE THESE GUYS HAVING A LAUGH IN THE BACKGROUND WHILE PEOPLE AND PEOPLES BUSINESS GO DOWN DUE TO THEIR CRAP ETHICS. A CONTRACT WAS AGREED TO AND ILL SEE THAT THEY UPHOLD IT AND ILL HAVE MY LAUGH BY GETTING LOSS & DAMAGES.

I purchased a domain name and web space from Hostsmart, to receive about 2 months of service, then ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! NO TECH SUPPORT, NO EMAIL RESPONSES, NO CONTACT DETAILS, plus has a FRAUDULENT ADDRESS AND PHOTO ON THE WEBSITE.
I would approach them and their services with EXTREME CAUTION!!!!!

I registered a domain and hosting package with hostsmart, I initially had a problem with payment not going through but contacted them and received a fairly quick response. Basically, all the issues were resolved within a few days and my site was up and running in a week. Could have been faster, but I'm paying $1 a month! It's true I didn't use webpage tempate, and the 'gallery' on the site leaves a fair bit to be desired (consisting only of thumbnails), so I can't comment on all of their services. Clearly hostsmart is budget - and with that in mind I really don't have any complaints.

I was also suckered by these guys. Cheap of a reason. They take your money but don't supply a service. 30 plus emails with one reply only after I threatened to go tothe police. The email I received told me to go to link to C panel, which didn't work anyway. 24/7 help line is NEVER on. I have applied for a refund on ALL emails but no reply. No phone number of website. No number via white or yellow pages (phone directly). No listing with telephone phoen directly. I tried to ring them via the phone number as listed with Paypal but that's also disconnected. I told paypal about this and they did not care. They obviously encourage scams as well.
These guys are theives. DO NOT SIGN UP. DO NOT TRUST. If someone says that these guys are o.k., they are most likely a part of the scam and shoudl also not be trusted.
DON'T GET CAUGHT LIKE I DID. STAY AWAY.

I chose the Business plan, my biggest gripe was the fact there was no 24/7 assistance like stated on their website. I have NEVER had a return email from tech support, I have applied for a refund, but I dont know if I well ever get that!! No trust in this company, im going for bluehost.com for comparable prices, unfortunately not located in Australia.

Avoid Hostsmart at all costs. If you cannot see my website, then that is because I joined Hostsmart. I regret the day I joined Hostsmart. They cost my business financially because of the down time, which was embarrassing and costly. The problem is not yet resolved, and the live Support at Hostsmart is NON-existent leaving my domain uselessly re-routing to a non-existent name server. This host, might as well be advertising distress to its customers. Because your paying a dollar a month to waste $1000's in your precious time.

They have no phone number for contact, they take your money fast enough but no after sale service whatsoever, takes days or longer to answer emails etc. Yellow pages has not heard of this company.
