| | ImHosted.Com Unveils World's First Virtual Hosting Software - March 25, 2002 - Managed hosting provider ImHosted.com (imhosted.com) today announced the availability of Hostman XP, which it said is the industry's first client virtual hosting software.
Hostman XP allows Web hosting customers to control and manage numerous aspects of running a Web site from their Windows desktop PC, including creating e-mail accounts, subdomains, mailing lists, 404 error pages and chat rooms. Hostman is compatible with the Windows 98, ME, XP and 2000 platforms.
In addition to built-in browser integration, other features include diagnosing connection problems, viewing Web statistics, handling support tickets, requesting live assistance and accessing web mail.
"We believe customers will benefit tremendously from using Hostman. Bringing traditional Web services to the windows desktop will mean a whole new level of ease and convenience for our customers," said Napoleon Pham, ImHosted.com Product Manager.

Next month I am not their client any more and they billed me anyway. So I asked for a refund. They answered one email and said checking into. No response ever again. And No Refund Ever Came!

This is absolutely ridiculous.

First off, they have oversold their server farm, causing frequent slowing of their servers, sometimes even having them locking up and going down. I have hooked up with a server monitoring service and confirmed that my server is dropping connections 12 times daily.
Then, they claim to have IM service, which is a joke because either they never are logged on, or if they are, they ignore you.
So, since they don't have phone service you have to open a support ticket, which may or may not be answered in 24 hours.

Chris ( info at goodguyhosting dot com ) | Bait and switch. THIS COUPON WILL NOT GET HONORED!!! After pointing it out to them, they said the info on 'their' site ONLY will get honored, and if it contradicts the coupon they posted... too bad.
Their webpage states "Host UNLIMITED websites/domains on your
> account for no extra charge!" They only give you 15 actually!
Here are the responses I got from their billing Dept. "Note that we offer free domain name only with annual hosting packages, whereas you had signed up for only a quarterly package. So you are not eligible for free domain name or $15 credit. "
So forget the "Get a FREE Domain Name With Any Web Hosting Purchase!" on the coupon!
They are involved in fraud, as far as I am concerned, and I am going to persue this with the BBB and my states Attorney General.
BUYER BEWARE you will be left to haggle with India's finest Tech Support over any issues!
